SEE?
How does a human being come into being? From a body moulded from water and earth, from a line, a patch of colour? When does shaped matter come alive, and when does it begin to look back at us?
Botond Részegh’s exhibition draws on the ancient story of the creation of humankind and the myth of Prometheus. Across five rooms in Bánffy Palace, we follow the creative process: from the birth of the body and the emergence of the face and the gaze, to the interconnectedness of human figures, and finally to their liberation and passage into infinity.
WORKSHOP: 🕗 14:00
Do You Wash Your Face in Another?
During the workshop, we will explore and create artworks inspired by the Heads series from Botond Részegh’s exhibition SEE? Designed for adults, the workshop focuses on the emergence of the gaze and explores questions of seeing and becoming visible.
Concept and Workshop Structure

At the heart of the workshop is the creation of abstracted portraits. After observing the works on display and taking part in a short guided discussion, participants will create symbolic representations of their personal experiences and emotions in the form of faces, initially leaving out the eyes intentionally. In the next stage, they will introduce the gaze into their compositions, exploring how its presence transforms the character and expressive power of each portrait. At the end of the workshop, participants will reflect together on what we read into a face and to what extent our own emotions and impressions shape the way we perceive and interpret others.
