What happens when, just one day before the premiere, the lead actresses of a classic such as Chekhov’s The Seagull must be replaced? This project begins with this premise to construct a deeply theatrical piece: a free adaptation of The Seagull, intertwined with the personal experiences of three actresses who reflect on stage about art, emotions, the passage of time, and boundaries – both theatrical and biographical. A young actress (Nina) and a veteran actress (Arkadina) must be replaced at the last minute. Only one day remains to save the premiere. How do you rehearse an absence? What happens when reality infiltrates fiction? The hungry universe of The Seagull, with Kostya and Trigorin presented by the actresses through their costumes and what remains of them on stage, is framed by a question: And could women not also be writers and creators?
